Work in Progress
Anatomy of a Book Cover: I thought you might like to see how a Book Cover is born. Here are three iterations of the cover for my new book Skinny Dipping coming out in August 2007.
Mouse over this paragraph to see the first incarnation. I loved the colors but the bikini top just said “twenty-something heroine” and I thought it would mislead potential readers into thinking that was who the heroine was.
Mouse over this paragraph to see the second version. It is closer— the flip-flops add a touch of humor— but we felt it was still too “youthful.”
Mouse over this paragraph to see the final version. We liked the energy and the brilliant colors of the original, the sexiness of the legs but feel the straw hat takes it out of the chic-lit realm and gave it a certain maturity without robbing it of the fun.
Check out my new Skinny Dipping trailer. I made it myself and I think it's wonderful. Launch the Skinny Dipping Trailer
